Protests against the deployment of the U.S. missile defense system continued Monday in South Korea amid rising controversy over which side would pay for the billion-U.S.-dollar costs for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD).

About 150 residents and peace activists blocked the entrance of police buses to a golf course in the southeastern part of the country, where part of the THAAD elements were already installed. (South Korea-THAAD)

NEW DELHI -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in India Sunday evening for a two-day visit, officials said.

NEW DELHI -- A speeding freight train crushed eight people to death and injured over a dozen others in India's eastern state of Bihar, police said Monday.

"In a tragic accident here last night, eight people including two women and two children were killed after a goods train overran them near Sirari railway station on Gaya-Kiul rail section here," a local police official told Xinhua. (India-Train Accident)

MACAO -- Macao has adopted a series of measures in terms of traffic control, tourism assistance and consumer rights protection during the Labor Day holiday, the special administrative region's tourism office said on Monday.

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) said that in order to safeguard visitor rights and ensure tourism quality, it has prepared a variety of measures such as carrying more scrupulous inspections, sending reminder letters to local businesses, providing food guide, attending to enquiries at different locations and supporting entities in organizing festive and holiday activities. SUVA -- Fiji's Ministry of Health and Medical Services has declared a dengue fever outbreak in the country after 913 people were diagnosed with the fever between January and April.

Mike Kama, national advisor for communicable diseases, confirmed one person had died during the period, the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation news website reported Monday. (Fiji-Dengue Fever)

SYDNEY -- A man has been arrested on the roof of Victoria's government house after a major security breach on Monday morning.

The man, who is reported to be suffering from mental health issues, was carried off the roof of the building, which is the home of Victorian Governor Linda Dessau, on a stretcher and treated for minor injuries. (Australia-Arrest) Endit
