North part finals of premier division of CUFL kick off in North China

The north part finals of premier division of China University Football League (CUFL) kicked off here on Sunday, as Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology team beat Shenyang University of Technology 4-1 in the opener.

As the host of the north part finals, Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology team enjoyed great support from thousands of fans, all dressing red and cheering from the very beginning.

The north part finals will last ten days and twenty teams from 15 provinces will fight for eight berths to the national finals. The defending champion Beijing Institute of Technology team is the traditional powerhouse, grabbing eight champions before.

The China University Football League was inaugurated in the year of 2000. It sets premier division, university division and vocational division, and the premier division stands for the highest competitive level.

There are over 1500 teams taking part in the three divisions of CUFL in the 2016-17 season, attracting millions of fans to the football fields. Endit
