The Bank of Japan on Thursday kept its monetary policy unchanged and lowered its inflation forecast for this fiscal year, saying its stimulus measures will be kept in place to achieve its reflation goal.

NEW DELHI -- India Thursday successfully testfired its intermediate range, nuclear-capable Agni-III ballistic missile from an island off the coast of the eastern state of Odisha, sources said.
"The testfiring from the Integrated Test Range of Abdul Kalam Island was part of an user trial of the 3,000-km range missile. It was carried out by the Strategic Forces Command with support from the state-owned Defense Research and Development Organization," sources said. (India-Missile)

HANOI -- A group of three ships under the Russian Navy's Pacific Fleet arrived at Cam Ranh international seaport in Vietnam's south central coastal Khanh Hoa province on Thursday, starting a visit to the country.
The group involves the guard missile cruiser Varyag, the medium-sized sea tanker Pechanga, and the rescue tugboat Fotiy Krylov as well as 642 sailors onboard of the three ships, reported Vietnam's state-run news agency VNA. (Russia-Vietnam-Ship)

KATHMANDU -- One of the two tourists from China's Taiwan, who went missing for 47 days and was rescued alive on Wednesday, is recovering well in a Nepalese hospital, a doctor involved in his treatment said Thursday.
A rescue team from the Asian Trekking in Nepal rescued male Liang Sheng Yueh alive while his female friend Liu Chen Chun was found dead in the northern mountainous region of Dhading district in central Nepal. (China-Nepal-Tourists)

NEW DELHI -- India's veteran Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna died of cancer at a private hospital in Mumbai at the age of 70 on Thursday.
