Singapore stocks close 0.08 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 2.4 points, or 0.08 percent, to close at 3,171.36.

A total of 1.82 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.09 billion Singapore dollars (783.03 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered decliners 255 to 207.

The STI index gained 9.83 points, or 0.31 percent, to close at 3,173.76 on Wednesday. Endit
