Sudan announces joint military exercise with UAE

Sudanese army on Wednesday announced an impending joint military exercise with the armed forces of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Sudanese army spokesman Ahmed Khalifa al-Shami announced it in a statement, adding that no date has been fixed yet, with arrangements underway.

Moreover, al-Shami described the "Blue Shield 1" air exercise earlier conducted between Sudanese and Saudi air forces as "successful."

Sudan and Saudi Arabia on Sunday concluded the "Blue Shield 1" air exercise at Meroe Air Base, some 200 km north of Sudanese capital Khartoum, where the exercise lasted for 10 days.

The Sudanese air force participated in the "Blue Shield 1" exercise with a total of 29 fighter planes and 450 military men, while 18 planes and 250 military personnel from Saudi side took part. Endit
