German stocks lose 0.5 pct Tuesday

German shares lost on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 61.17 points, or 0.50 percent, to close at 12,139.35 points.

Financial services providers Commerzbank and Deutsche Bank lost the most among the blue chips, down by 2.03 percent and 1.58 percent respectively, followed by semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies, which lost 1.52 percent.

Lufthansa, RWE and Vonovia were the top three winners, rising 3.70 percent, 0.67 percent and 0.60 percent respectively.

German insurance and financial services company Allianz was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 274.43 million euros (291.49 million U.S. dollars). Endit
