Visiting Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday met India's main opposition Congress party's leader Sonia Gandhi at the president's official residence - Rashtrapati Bhawan - in Delhi.
Gandhi lauded Hasina's zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism and told her that such menaces must be dealt with an iron fist, senior sources said.
Gandhi's son Rahul, the scion of Nehru-Gandhi family and the second-in-command of the Congress party, and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also made a courtesy call to the visiting Bangladesh prime minister at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
India and Bangladesh on Saturday inked 22 pacts, including on civil nuclear cooperation and defense, after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Hasina held extensive talks at the iconic Hyderabad House in Delhi.
Hasina, who arrived in India Friday on a four-day state visit, will wrap up her tour Tuesday.
This is Hasina's first visit to India after Modi assumed office in May 2014, following his Bharatiya Janata Party's won a landslide victory in the general elections. Endit
