Armenia, China mark 25 years of diplomatic relations

A ceremony was held in Yerevan On Wednesday, hailing 25 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and the People's Republic of China.

"The past 25 years have been a period of continuously strengthened political mutual trust between China and Armenia," said Chinese Ambassador Tian Erlong in his opening remarks.

"Twenty-five years later, we are now opening a new page in the relations of our countries," said Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.

Diplomatic relations between Armenia and China were established on April 6 of 1992, after the South Caucasus republic gained independence in September of 1991 amid the collapse of the Soviet Union. Enditem
