British stocks rise 0.13 pct

Britain benchmark stock market gauge, the FTSE 100 Index, rose by 0.13 percent, or 9.86 points, to 7,331.68 points on Wednesday.

The share price of Whitbread increased by 2.95 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips. Micro Focus International, Provident Financial, British Land Co. and DCC increased by 2.63 percent, 2.34 percent, 2.13 percent and 1.78 percent respectively.

Old Mutual led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 4.38 percent, following by Croda International (3.60 percent), AstraZeneca (1.97 percent), Mediclinic International (1.74 percent) and Johnson Matthey (1.51 percent). Endit
