Indonesia to build circuit for MotoGP in West Nusa Tenggara

Indonesia will construct an international circuit for MotoGP in West Nusa Tenggara province of central parts of the nation, an official said here on Tuesday.

An agreement on the construction of the sport facility had been inked, involving a French investor, said Edwin Darmasetiawan, director for Indonesia tourism develoment corporation.

"The commitment is clear, construction of a circuit for MotoGP in Lombok," he said.

The circuit would be constructed in 120 hectares lands in Lombok of the province, the director said.

The construction is expected to be completed in 2019, said Darmasetiawan.

The project requires 13 trillion rupiah (some 1.049 bilion U.S. dollars) funds, he added.

The director said that the new facility is expected to help attract more foreign tourist to the province. Endit
