Xinhua, April 4, 2017 Adjust font size:

Spain's consumer confidence rose by 4.6 points to 99.7 points from February to March, which however still indicates a negative perspective on Spain's economic situation, the Sociological Research Centre (CIS) reported on Monday.

The Consumer Confidence Indicator (CCI) ranges between 0 and 200 points, with ratings over 100 points considered as positive perceptions of the economic situation and ratings below that figure indicating a negative one.

The indicator of the current economic situation has increased by 5.9 points since February to 91.4 points, with opinions on the general economic situation rising by 8.1 points, those of the situation of households rising by 4.4 percent and those about employment increasing by 5.4 points.

The indicator of the people's expectations about the future has grown by 3.2 points since February to 107.9 points.

The indicators of the public opinions about the household situation, the future of the general economic situation and the labor market have gone up by 4.2 points, by 4.3 points and by 1.1 points, respectively, since February.

The March figure is the highest since last December.

The CCI is a tool that helps to forecast the performance of the country's economy taking into account consumers' behavior. Endi
