Austrian parliamentary probe into Eurofighter case to start in April

Xinhua, March 4, 2017 Adjust font size:

The Austrian parliamentary investigation committee into the Eurofighter jet case is to be formed by early April, Austria Press Agency reported on Friday.

Following its expected approval in parliament, the timeline sees the committee first studying the case for several weeks, based on allegations that manufacturer Airbus engaged in willful deception in its sale of the interceptor jets, and that numerous individuals, including politicians, may have received kickbacks.

It is anticipated that questioning of key individuals involved in the case could then begin in early May.

The committee is to examine events that occurred in the case from 2000 to 2016, though with an emphasis on the significance of the events rather than on chronology. Endit
