French shares gain Friday

French stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark Paris CAC40 index up 0.63 percent, or 31.33 points, to close at 4,995.13 points.

Of the 40 blue-chips, 25 rose in the day.

French banking giant Societe Generale advanced 4.57 percent, becoming the top bluechip winner. French car manufacturer rose 2.89 percent. Another banking firm BNP Paribas was up 2.84 percent.

Publicis Groupe, French multinational advertising and public relations company, lost 1.74 percent. Steel giant ArcelorMittal was down 1.72 percent. Oil and gas firm Technipfmc went down 1.06 percent. Endit
