Hungary's trade surplus expands to 9.9 bln euros in 2016

Hungary's trade surplus for 2016 amounted to 9.9 billion euros (10.45 billion U.S. dollars), up by 1.3 billion euros compared with 2015, the Central Statistical Office said on Friday, issuing its second estimate.

The value of exports in 2016 amounted to 93.0 billion euros and that of imports 83.1 billion euros. The volume of exports in 2016 was up by 4.4 percent and that of imports by 4.7 percent, compared with the previous year.

In December 2016, the volume of of imports increased by 7.7 percent and that of exports by 8.0 percent, compared with December 2015. (1 euro=1.06 U.S. dollar) Endit
