Xinhua, March 4, 2017 Adjust font size:

Representatives from 17 countries took part at a preparatory conference for the "Sea Breeze-2017" military exercises due to be held in Ukraine this summer, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said on Friday.

The four-day conference gathered military officials from Ukraine, the United States, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, Great Britain, France, Canada, Moldova, Germany, Norway, Poland, Romania, Turkey and Sweden, the ministry said in a statement.

The participants of the event have worked out a detailed plan and a scenario of the exercises, which include land, sea and air drills, and defined their potential participants, the statement said.

The "Sea Breeze" international military exercises have been conducted annually in Ukraine since 1997, except for the years of 2006, 2007 and 2009.

Last year's maneuvers, which were held from July 18 to 30, in Ukraine's southern Odessa and Mykolaiv regions, involved around 4,000 military personnel from 16 countries. Enditem
