Singapore stocks close 0.44 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 13.71 points, or 0.44 percent, to close at 3,136.48.

A total of 2.78 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.76 billion Singapore dollars (1.25 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered decliners 245 to 239.

The STI index gained 26.16 points, or 0.84 percent, to close at 3,122.77 on Wednesday. Enditem
