Job of a panda caretaker : Fun and hard

Ecns.cn, February 28, 2017 Adjust font size:

Duan Dongqiong takes care of a panda cub at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in Chengdu City, the capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province. Duan, 39, has worked in the base for 18 years since graduation from university. She now leads a team of keepers mainly responsible for pandas' pregnancy, birth, and care for cubs. Duan said she is happy every day to be with the pandas because they are so cute. Panda caretakers often try all possible ways to keep the animals healthy, such as hiding apples and bananas somewhere to encourage pandas' moving. However, the job can be tough too. Many caretakers have their hands or arms scratched. (Photo/scol.com.cn)
