Kenya's electoral agency registered 3.8 million new voters in the just concluded month-long mass listing. This was 62 percent of the agency's 6.1 million upper target, and 95 per cent of its 4 million lower target.
Releasing the results in Nairobi on Tuesday, commission boss projected that approximately 3.2 million people would be added to the roll at the end of voters' roll clean-up. The new figures put the number of total registered voters to about 19 million, with ruling party Jubilee and Opposition in a neck-to-neck battle for numbers in counties. (Daily Nation)
