At least three people lost their lives and 22 others were injured Wednesday as a motorbike bomb struck a bazaar in Paktika province in eastern Afghanistan, a provincial government spokesman said.
The explosion took place in Jani Khil district, spokesman Mohammad Rahman Ayaz said.
"A terrorist planted an explosive device into the cavities of a motorbike and detonated it in the bazaar of Jani Khil district today at around 01:00 p.m. local time killing three persons on the spot and injuring 22 others," Ayaz told Xinhua.
Some of the injured persons are in critical conditions, the official added.
All the victims of the blast are civilians, he said. Ayaz blamed the enemies of peace, a reference to the Taliban for organizing the attack, but the armed outfit has yet to claim responsibility. Enditem
