"xXx: Return of Xander Cage" continues to lead Chinese box office

"xXx: Return of Xander Cage," a Hollywood action movie featuring Vin Diesel, grabbed the top spot in the Chinese film market for the second consecutive week, China Film News reported Tuesday.

The film earned 500 million yuan (72.6 million U.S. dollars) in the week ending Feb. 19 and has grossed a total of 922 million yuan since its release on Feb. 10.

Hollywood romance "La La Land" took second place for the week, earning 157 million yuan.

"Kung-Fu Yoga," a domestic comedy featuring Hong Kong action star Jackie Chan, placed third, earning 110 million yuan. It has grossed 1.7 billion yuan since its release on Jan. 28.

"Duckweed," a domestic adventure film directed by writer Han Han, sat in fourth place, generating 100 million yuan.

Rounding out the top five was Universal's animation "Sing," which grossed 83 million yuan. Endi
