-- Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan said he is "not indispensable" as he prepares to present the annual budget following almost a year of speculation that he might lose his job.

"We are just humble civil servants," Gordhan said in an interview on Monday after being asked about rumours that he and his deputy Mcebisi Jonas may be replaced by President Jacob Zuma.(eNCA).

-- Citibank has agreed to pay an administrative penalty of R69.5m (5 million U.S. dollars) for being part of the forex trading cartel.

The Competition Commission announced the settlement of R69 500 860 on Monday, which was filed with the Competition Tribunal. (Fin24).

-- The Chairperson of the Davis Tax Committee Judge Dennis Davis said on Monday it will be difficult for Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan to raise certain taxes.
