Singapore stocks close 1.26 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 39.16 points, or 1.26 percent, to close at 3,072.47.

A total of 3.33 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.47 billion Singapore dollars (1.04 billion U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 310 to 176, while 598 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 11.24 points, or 0.36 percent, to close at 3,111.63 on Monday. Endit
