1st LD Writethru: S.Korean prosecutors seek 2nd arrest warrant of Samsung heir

South Korean prosecutors independently investigating the scandal involving impeached President Park Geun-hye on Tuesday made their second request for the arrest warrant of the heir apparent of Samsung Group, the country's biggest family-controlled conglomerate.

The arrest warrant for Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong was sought, the special prosecutors said in a text message. A Seoul court is forecast to determine its validity on Thursday night or early Friday.

The independent counsel team on Jan. 16 requested its first warrant, which was rejected by the court three days later for lack of evidence. Endit
