Macedonian industrial production up 9.9 pct in 2016

The annual turnover in Macedonia's industry sector last year increased 9.9 percent, the State Statistical Office said in a report on Monday.

In December of 2016, turnover in the country's industry increased by 6.6 percent from a year ago. On monthly basis, December's industrial production registered a strong decline of 17.9 percent from the previous month.

The highest annual growth of turnover was in mining and quarrying, at 13.9 percent, while in manufacturing it was 6.4 percent.

Meanwhile, the turnover by main industrial groupings was higher in intermediate goods (5.9 percent), and capital goods (16.8 percent), but lower in durable consumer goods (1.0 percent) and non-durable consumer goods (2.1 percent). Endit
