BiH extends congratulations to German President-elect

Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Mladen Ivanic on Monday extended congratulations to Germany's former foreign minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier on his election as German president.

In a congratulatory message, Ivanic said Germany was one of the most important partners for BiH when it came to the country's European path.

"I believe that during your term of office we will continue with good bilateral relations between our two countries," the letter read.

German Federal Assembly on Sunday elected Steinmeier as its new president, succeeding Joachim Gauck who had decided not to run for a second term. Endit
