Illegal migrants found in truck in west Croatian capital

Several illegal migrants were found in a truck parked in western suburb of Zagreb on Tuesday.

The migrants were found after being heard coughing in the truck and they were nearly suffocated when they were found, local media reported.

They were taken in by the police for identification. But police said they would not reveal the number and where they came from before the investigation was completed.

In December, 67 illegal migrants were found in a van east of Zagreb and 42 of them were sent to hospital due to carbon monoxide poisoning and dehydration.

More than one million migrants passed through Austria, Slovenia and Croatia to reach Germany and other European countries in 2015. Endit
