Xinhua, February 8, 2017 Adjust font size:

Algerian army troops destroyed eight terror bunkers during separate operations conducted in different parts of the country, said a statement of the defense ministry on Tuesday.

The operations were part of the Algerian army counter-terrorism efforts, said the ministry, adding that guns and ammunition were discovered at uninhabited house in the province of Blida, 55 km southwest of Algiers.

Weapons retrieved included two submachine guns, two Beretta automatic guns, four grenades, 11 munitions magazines, a quantity of ammunition, explosives and detonating tools.

Located in a region plagued by unprecedented security and political instability, Algeria faces ongoing terrorist threats, experts said.
