Bulgaria seizes over 7 kg of cocaine at border with Romania

Xinhua, February 6, 2017 Adjust font size:

Bulgarian law enforcement officers have seized 7.19 kg of cocaine hidden in a truck carrying second-hand furniture from the Netherlands, officials said Monday.

The truck was stopped near the northwestern town of Vidin bordering Romania.

The illicit drug, split into six packets, was found after the nervous behavior of the two Bulgarians on board prompted the officers to carry out a detailed inspection of the vehicle, the National Customs Agency said in a statement.

The two Bulgarians were arrested on the scene.

According to its annual report, the agency seized a total of 58 kg of cocaine in 2016, while in 2015 the total cocaine seizures amounted to 6.36 kg. Endit
