1st LD Writethru: Fire kills 2 in Sarajevo

Two elderly people were killed in a fire on Monday morning in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, spokesperson of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Canton Sarajevo Irfan Nefic confirmed to Xinhua.

According to a duty doctor in the emergency medical service of Sarajevo, six to eight people were poisoned with carbon monoxide and are currently in hospital.

The fire broke out on the 11th floor of a building in Sarajevo after an explosion of gas in one of the apartments.

According to eyewitnesses, after the explosion, one woman came to the window and asked for help, but was not seen later.

An investigation into the accident is underway. Endit
