China's curling team eliminated in Universiade

Xinhua, February 4, 2017 Adjust font size:

China women's curling team beat Britain 8-4 but still failed to qualify for the semifinals at the 28th Winter Universiade here on Saturday.

China concluded their Universiade campaign with a record of 5 wins and 4 losses, ranking 7th among the 10 teams.

"If we had beaten South Korea in our fourth game, we could have a better result," said Chinese coach Yue Qingshuang.

Yue attributed the loss to their mentality. "They are very young, with little experience in big events, so they didn't seize opportunities in some important games."

"I hope my players can play more games in the future and learn to cope with pressure," she added. Endit
