Morocco condemns Canada mosque attack

Morocco on Wednesday condemned an shooting attack Sunday on a mosque in Canadian city of Quebec, which killed six people, including a Moroccan national.

Th attack "targeted a place of worship of a friendly country, symbol of openness and tolerance," Moroccan King Mohammed VI said in a message to Canadian Prime minister Justin Trudeau.

The king extended to Trudeau, the bereaved families, and the friendly people of Canada his heartfelt condolences and sincere compassion, wishing those injured a swift recovery.

He also sent a message of condolence and compassion to the family of Moroccan national Azzeddine Soufiane, who died in the attack, as well as the three others who were wounded.

The mosque attack in Quebec left six dead and eight others wounded.

A Canadian political science student was charged on Monday with six counts of murder over the shooting spree. Endit
