S. Korea beats China in women's curling at Universiade

South Korea beat China 9-8 in the women's curling competition at the 2017 Almay Universiade here on Wednesday.

In a tight game, both sides tied at 5-5 after the sixth end. Skip Mei Jie threw a hit to score two in the seventh end to help China lead 7-5.

However, South Korea even scored three points in the following end through excellent tactics to lead the game at 8-7.

After China added another in the ninth end, South Korea easily scored the decisive point in the tenth to win the game.

With the victory, South Korea ranked third in the round-robin tournament with three wins against one loss while China dropped to fifth with a 2-2 win-loss record.

China faces Germany on Thursday for its fifth game at the Universiade. Endit
