The European Union (EU) appealed Monday Macedonian President Gjeorge Ivanov to hold urgent talks with political forces and appoint a leader for the creation of the government, local media reported.

European Commission spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic stated that at a time when VMRO-DPMNE of Nikola Gruevski and DUI of Ali Ahmeti failed to reach an agreement for the creation of the government, Ivanov should launch fresh talks with political parties, Macedonian information agency reported.
