Estonian Navy gets new chief

Lieutenant Commander Juri Saska has been appointed the new chief of the Estonian Navy, according to a decree issued by Estonian Defense Minister Margus Tsakhna on Monday.

Saska is due to take command of the Estonian Navy on Wednesday.

Saska started his military career in 1993 when he was called up to serve in the Estonian armed forces as a conscript.

After completing his compulsory service, Saska graduated from the Swedish Military Academy Karlberg and later improved his qualification also in other institutions of higher education.

Estonia's new navy commander has served on nearly all ships of the Estonian naval flotilla. Saska has also served as the Navy's chief of staff. Endit
