-- South Africa's finance minister Pravin Gordhan has labelled a court application by Black Land First (BLF) regarding a controversial report about alleged apartheid era looting or illicit activities as a "political ploy".

The report, which was put together in the late 1990s, outlined how the new South African government could recoup monies that were lost because of alleged apartheid era looting or illicit activities. (Business Day)

-- Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Mmusi Maimane has accepted Cape Town mayor Patricia de Lille's resignation as the party's Western Cape leader, his spokesperson Mabine Seabe said.

De Lille sent Maimane her letter of resignation on Friday, said Seabe. (News24)

-- Suspended National Police Commissioner Riah Phiyega's legal representatives said on Sunday that they are ready to argue their case in court and are now waiting for a response to their application.
