1st LD: Malaysian police arrest crew members of missing boat carrying Chinese tourists

Two crew members of the boat carrying Chinese tourists that went missing off Malaysia's Sabah state were arrested to facilitate investigation, police said Monday.
In a social media posting, Sabah police chief Ramli Din said both men had been held under Section 304A of the Penal Code for causing death by negligence.
The skipper and a crewman were the first to be rescued after their boat went missing on Saturday. It was carrying 28 Chinese tourists and three crew members.
20 Chinese tourists were rescued later Sunday, and three were found dead.
Search and rescue effort are ongoing for the six that remained missing, with Brunei joining the effort in a 1,500 square nautical miles area.
Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said on social media posting that he saw the tragedy seriously and want a detailed investigation to find out the cause of the incident.
However, for the time being, the full focus should be on the search and rescue efforts for the six that have not yet been found, he said. Endit
