New record sales for Dutch chip equipment producer ASML

Xinhua, January 18, 2017 Adjust font size:

ASML recorded a company record net sales of 6.80 billion euros (7.27 billion U.S. dollars) in the full year 2016, the Dutch chip equipment producer announced on Wednesday.

In 2015, net sales amounted to 6.29 billion euros, which was also a record for the Dutch company. ASML expects to continue the rising net sales in 2017, so a new sales record is in sight for this year.

The full year net income rose from 1.39 billion euros in 2015 to 1.47 billion euros last year.

In the fourth quarter of 2016, net sales were 1.91 billion euros, compared to 1.43 billion euros in the same period last year, while net income was 524 million euros, compared to 292 million euros in the fourth quarter of 2015.

"2016 has been a remarkable year for ASML on many fronts," said chief executive officer Peter Wennink in a press release. "We delivered record financial performance, with contributions from each of our wide range of product offerings." (1 euro = 1.07 U.S. dollars) Endit
