Brazilian Serie A club Atletico Goianiense have announced the disappearance of their coach Marcelo Cabo.

The club held a press conference on Monday confirming media reports that Gabo had not been seen since Sunday morning.

"It's a difficult situation because he is close to all of us. I hope that this ends in the best way possible," Atletico Goianiense's football director Adson Batista said.

Police confirmed they were investigating the disappearance of the 50-year-old.
