Good momentum of Slovakia's economic growth to remain in 2017: PM

Xinhua, January 6, 2017 Adjust font size:

The good momentum of Slovakia's economic growth will remain in 2017, although the global economy still faces problems, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said on Thursday.

"If we look at the structure of Slovakia's GDP growth, i.e. what it's based on, I assume that there's no reason to worry about any radical changes coming in 2017," said Fico.

The prime minister said Slovakia, along with its neighbouring countries, such as the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland, has one of the fastest growing economies in the European Union.

Meanwhile, Fico said inflation will return to Slovakia this year after the country experienced two years of deflation.

Slovakia will likely to face labor shortage this year, noted Fico. Endit
