Two arrested in Madrid for exalting extremism

Xinhua, December 29, 2016 Adjust font size:

Two people were arrested in Madrid for exalting extremism, the Spanish Ministry of Interior said on Wednesday.

The detainees, aged between 18 and 25, had Spanish nationality and family members from Gambia and Morocco. They used a hut as a meeting point with other extremists, in the neighborhood of Vallecas.

The ministry said that the police had been searching in five different places, including the houses of the detainees, according to police sources.

The operation is still going on and police are trying to confirm whether they were planning an attack or not. Spanish police have arrested a total of 175 extremists since 2015. Endit
