Xinhua, December 29, 2016 Adjust font size:

Iran's soccer friendly match against Morocco is set to be called off, Tahran Times daily reported on Wednesday.

The friendly match was scheduled to be held on January 6 at Dubai's Al Ain Stadium in preparation for the World Cup qualification, however, the Iranian team will only hold their 7-day training camp in Dubai without playing a friendly, according to the report.

According to the reports, the UAE only lets the game be held behind the closed doors, but many Iranian fans in the UAE are interested in attending the game.

Iran will play with Qatar and China on March 23 and 28 respectively in Group A of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualification. Endit
