The following are news highlights in Ethiopia's major media outlets on Tuesday.

--The Awash Basin Authority (ABA) plans to build two additional dams which could help prevent water shortage at the region that has over 18 million inhabitants.

The dams would also help prevent flooding at the middle and lower Awash areas, Getachew Gizaw, ABA director general told FBC on Monday. The dams are part of the second Growth and Transformational Plan (GTP-II) period. (Fana Broadcasting Corporate/FBC)

--The first phase of Mekelle industrial park, which is located in Tigray Regional State, is expected to be completed next February, according to the state trade and industry bureau.

The bureau held discussion yesterday with local investors who want to enter into the park. More than 150 local investors are expected to enter into Mekelle industrial park. (Fana Broadcasting Corporate/FBC)

--Ethiopian Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr Workneh Gebeyehu, has pledged to do more to consolidate the relationships between Ethiopia and Djibouti.

Dr Workneh took part at Djiboutian ambassadors' meeting held recently in Djibouti. According to a statement the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia sent to FBC, the minister on the occasion briefed the ambassadors on Ethiopia's foreign policy. (Fana Broadcasting Corporate/FBC) Endit
