Albania's insurance market expands by 7.85 pct: statistics

Albania's insurance market grew by 7.85 percent year on year to around 13.3 million leks (103,000 U.S. dollars) during the first 11 months of this year, the local media reported on Sunday, citing the latest report of Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority.

According to the report, the number of issued insurance contracts during the period reached 996,556, up 1.71 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, the total value of paid claims increased sharply by 21.02 percent on year, reaching 3.76 million leks.

Non-life insurance continued to dominate Albania's insurance market with a share of 93.71 percent of the total premium volume, while life insurance and reinsurance market acounted for 5.96 percent and 0.33 percent respectively. Enditem
