Eighth Russian Borey-class submarine keel-layed in Severodvinsk

The eight Project 955A Borey-class nuclear submarine keel-laying ceremony was organized in Severodvinsk on Friday.

TASS reports that the new submarine named "Knyaz Pozharskiy" will be the last fourth generation Borey-class vessel. Russia is currently in the process of developing a fifth generation strategic nuclear submarine project.

The Russian Fleet now has three Borey-class submarines in service. All Project 955 vessels are equipped with 16 Bulava ballistic missiles. Endit
