Two suspects were arrested by the Slovenian police for allegedly selling lethal weapons and explosives on the dark web, the European Police Office (Europol) said Tuesday.

A large quantity of weapons were uncovered during the house searches, including automatic and semiautomatic guns, hand grenades and ammunition.

Investigations revealed that the two men, both Slovenian nationals, sold weapons on the dark net which were then sent via postal mail to buyers in other European countries.

They also sold ammunition to the weapons and the transactions were paid for in Bitcoin.

Intelligence analysis provided by Europol helped the Slovenian police identify the suspects. Endit
