NATO to conclude exercise Ultimate Sword in Poland

Xinhua, December 20, 2016 Adjust font size:

NATO will conclude exercise Ultimate Sword, a drill designed to test the international force in crisis response, the security organization said in a press release Tuesday.

The 10-day exercise is being held at NATO's joint force training center in Poland and is set to wrap up on Wednesday.

The scenario includes a land, air, maritime and special forces component which allowed a German-Netherlands Corps, a multinational formation consisting of units from both the Netherlands and German army to gain exceptional experience.

The Corps will be responsible as NATO's Joint Task Force Headquarters starting on July 1, 2017.

"Our logisticians had to cope with events and incidents. It is clear that there were ample opportunities to show that they master the game," said Lieutenant General Michiel van der Laan, Commander of the Corps. Endit
