Dollar changes hands in lower 118 yen range in early Tokyo trade

The U.S. dollar changed hands in the lower 118 yen range in early deals in Tokyo on Friday, principally in line with levels see overnight in New York as it rose on the Federal Reserve's indication it may hike its rates sooner than anticipated.

As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 118.27-28 yen compared with 118.12-22 yen in New York and 117.62-66 yen at 5 p.m. on Thursday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.0417-0417 dollars and 123.20-21 yen against 1.0410-0420 dollars and 123.00-10 yen in New York and 1.0486-0490 dollars and 123.36-40 yen in late afternoon trade on Thursday in Tokyo. Endit
