Shanghai SIPG star Conca reportedly to be loaned to Flamengo

Xinhua, December 16, 2016 Adjust font size:

Rio de Janeiro giants Flamengo are reportedly in talks with Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG to loan Argentinian midfielder Dario Conca.

The 33-year-old has not played since suffering a knee ligament injury in Shanghai SIPG's 4 -1 wini over Shijiazhuang Ever Bright in August. He is not expected to return to action until March.

According to Brazilian newspaper Uol Esporte, Conca is keen to return to Rio, where he represented Flamengo's rivals Fluminense in two separate spells.

Under terms of the proposed one-year loan, Flamengo would only need to pay Conca's salary, expected to be less than half that of his current deal, reportedly worth around 11 million US dollars a year.

Conca has made 46 appearances for Shanghai SIPG since his 2015 move from Fluminense. Endit
