Daughter of former Mozambican president shot dead by husband

Valentina Guebuza, a daughter of former Mozambican president Armando Guebuza, is confirmed dead after being shot, the Mozambican police confirmed Thursday.

"This is an authentic case of domestic violence that unfortunately ended up in the killing of the citizen, Valentina Guebuza. The incident occurred in their residence where she was victim of gunshot and promptly ushered to the Heart Institute but she did not resist," said Inacio Dina, police spokesperson.

The police said that her husband is the suspect and is jailed and the process will now follow its normal procedures in order to hold him responsible if the investigation conclude he is guilty of the homicide.

Valentina Guebuza and her husband got married in 2014 in what was classified as the wedding of the year in Mozambique that had around 1,700 guests. Her husband is a senior executive from the Mozambique main mobile phone operator Mcel. Endite
