Singapore stocks close 0.79 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 23.29 points, or 0.79 percent, to close at 2,930.77.

A total of 2.07 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.11 billion Singapore dollars (772.44 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 315 at 146, while 627 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 1.17 points, or 0.04 percent, to close at 2,954. 06 on Wednesday. Enditem
